About Us

Former International Pro basketball coach, Toriano Andrews, created Backyard 21 to share his love for flavorful food with a twist. In 2022, he began serving Duval County and the surrounding areas. 

Toriano created a menu that showcased his southern Mississippi roots combined with his Virginia Beach background; and put his own spin on some American classics. He’s most known for his mouth-watering smoked turkey legs and his ohhh sooo famous mac and cheese.
